PRESS RELEASE: INDIANAPOLIS – (March 7, 2013) – Pulse, the automotive safety product that improves the reaction time of drivers, especially distracted drivers, by creating an attention getting alert when cars are slowing down or stopping, today announces it is partnering with third generation race car driver Andrew Hobbs as a primary sponsor to his #15 car.

Although Pulse is not specifically designed for use in motorsports, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) found that distracted drivers are 69 percent more likely to notice cars stopping or slowing down if they have a product like Pulse installed. As the leading safety aftermarket product in America, Pulse causes the third brake light to rapidly Pulse four times when the brake pedal is initially pressed. With Andrew’s help, Pulse is continuing to spread the message about the dangers of texting and driving.

Pulse joins Andrew Hobbs for his 2013 racing season. Previously focused on karting since the age of eight, Andrew, son to Greg Hobbs and grandson to the legendary David Hobbs, recently made the shift to open wheel race cars and hopes to uphold the winning family tradition in the Cooper Tires USF2000 National Championship this year. This series is the first official step on the Mazda Road to Indy. Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Andrew is pursuing the dream of racing in the Indy 500 and a full-time ride in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

“Teaming up with Andrew Hobbs is a perfect fit for Pulse, and we are thrilled to support him on his debut in the Mazda Road to Indy series,” said Dave Sorg, national sales director of Kinetech, makers of Pulse. “Pulse has a longstanding professional relationship with David Hobbs Honda, which has been in the dealership business serving customers for over 25 years. We share an enthusiasm for quality products for our customers.”

Pulse is sold and installed through hundreds of automotive retailers across the nation.

“In today’s fast moving environment, distraction is so easy,” said Greg Hobbs, MMFIC at David Hobbs Honda. “Pulse, the safer braking technology, installed as standard equipment on all of our vehicles helps our customer understand that it is them we are looking after. While the customer is number one at David Hobbs Honda, it doesn’t work unless you have partners who are as great to work with as the folks at Pulse.”

Andrew will be competing in the USF2000 National Championship series which has earned its reputation as the entry-level pro series of choice for career-minded open-wheel drivers.

“I would not be here without the help of amazing sponsors including Pulse,” said Andrew Hobbs of Andrew Hobbs Racing. “I can’t thank everyone involved enough for making this possible and would encourage fans to visit my website and learn more about this excellent company. I am really proud to be an ambassador for them.”
