Introduction to Pulse™
Last week I talked with Michael Southern of Arrowhead Honda in Peoria, Arizona about how Pulse™ works and how Arrowhead Honda is using it on their service vehicles to improve safety on the road. He’d just gotten Pulse™ installed in his own car and told me it makes his car “highly visible.” This phrase is one that I keep hearing from those who’ve gotten Pulse™ installed on their vehicles.
Pulse™ is being sold at more and more dealerships across the country, which means it will be seen by more people driving on the roads. With increased awareness of the product we want to make sure YOU know all about how Pulse™ works and how you can get it for your vehicle.
What is Pulse™
Pulse™ is a patent pending solid state electronic rear end collision deterrent designed for use in automobiles and light duty trucks manufactured after 1991. When you press the brake pedal in your car, Pulse™ causes the 3rd brake light (also known as a Center High Mount Stop Lamp or CHMSL) to pulse four times, warning the driver behind you that you are slowing down or stopping.
37% of all accidents are rear end collisions, and 28% of those are deemed to be a “total loss” by the insurance adjustor. A recent NHTSA study demonstrated that approximately 90% of all rear end collisions are avoidable if the trailing driver had just one extra second of warning. Pulse™ can provide that warning.
Pulse™ meets federal regulations and the regulatory requirements of all 50 states in the U.S. for brake lights. While the national highway safety laws restrict flashing lights to emergency vehicle use only, the Pulse™ design causes the 3rd brake light to remain steady burning, even while it pulses four times.
Similar products from offshore manufacturers and sold direct to consumer over the internet are illegal because they cause the brake light to flash (NHTSA regulations reserve flashing lights to emergency vehicles). Another nice feature is that Pulse™ was designed and is manufactured in the USA, so you can support American workers and our national economy when purchasing Pulse™. Further, competing products from overseas don’t come with any warranty.
Right now you can buy Pulse™ at any one of hundreds of new and used automobile dealers nationwide. If you’re not sure where to find a dealer in your area carrying Pulse™ you can contact Pulse™ at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will put you in touch with a dealership carrying their product. Qualified fleet owners/operators can purchase Pulse™ directly.
If you have purchased a vehicle with Pulse™, we’d love to have you share your experience with others! Contact email@example.com and let us know you’d like to share about your Pulse™ experience.
